I bought this for my dog (a 65 lbs. lab) for a vacation in which we swam around in and canoed a class 2-3 river and spent the day on a pontoon boat on a lake. The life jacket fit well and was very streamlined to the dogs body. It was very secure with both velco and buckle closures. While on the canoe trip during breaks the dog ran around in the woods and the jacket didn't get any damage. While on the lake we could lift the dog into and out of the boat using the handle. It kept her afloat and she seemed comfortable with it supporting all her weight.
